Police seek bank robbery suspect
North Myrtle Beach police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man in connection with a bank robbery that occurred Thursday afternoon, according to city spokesman Pat Dowling.
The TD Bank located at 1801 U.S.17 South in North Myrtle Beach was robbed around 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Dowling said.
North Myrtle Beach police are looking for a man, who is short and stocky, wore a grey-hooded Florida Gators sweatshirt, with dark sunglasses, a black knit cap and possibly blue jeans, Dowling said.
The man also has a mustache, which may or may not be authentic, Dowling said.
He said the man had a gun and gave the teller a note. He escaped with an undetermined amount of money.
Anyone with information about the man’s identity and/or the incident is asked to contact the North Myrtle Beach Department of Public Safety at 280-5511.

Conway man gets probation for DUI
A Conway man pleaded guilty to felony driving under the influence involving a 2010 vehicle crash that left someone seriously injured, according to court records.
Timothy Dale Baker, 25, pleaded guilty to felony DUI with great bodily injuries on Wednesday before Circuit Court Judge Steven John, according to records. John sentenced Baker to 10 years in prison, but suspended that sentence upon Baker’s service of five years on probation and ordered him to get his GED and pay court costs.
Baker’s driver’s license was suspended as part of the plea.
Baker was indicted in June 2010 on two counts of felony DUI with great bodily injury in an incident that occurred April 22, 2010. The other count was dismissed as part of the plea.

Man accused of hitting, choking woman
Myrtle Beach police charged a 41-year-old man with criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature after a woman said he choked her, according to a police report.
Williams James Dickson, 41, was charged late Tuesday after officers were called about 9:45 p.m. to an apartment at 919 N. Ocean Blvd., for a disturbance, police said.
Dickson is being held at J. Reuben Long Detention Center on $25,000 bond, according to jail records.
The 35-year-old woman told police that when she tried to leave the room, Dickson grabbed her by the hair, pulled her back inside, slapped her several times and choked her, according to the report. The woman said she feared for her safety.
Dickson told police he and the woman were arguing, according to the report.

Man in sexual assault of juvenile
Myrtle Beach police charged a Lancaster man Wednesday in connection with a sexual assault that occurred earlier this year, according to police records.
Charles Daniel Coley, 47, of Lancaster was charged Wednesday with criminal sexual conduct with a minor under the age of 16, according to Myrtle Beach Jail records.
The charges stemmed from an incident that occurred Feb. 26 and Feb. 27 at an Ocean Boulevard apartment, according to a police report filed June 20.
The incident involved a juvenile girl, whose age was not listed in the report.
Coley is being held at J. Reuben Long Detention Center on $20,000 bond.

Romney to visit MB Saturday
Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney will make a campaign stop in Myrtle Beach Saturday.
The former Massachusetts governor will host a town hall meeting at the Horry-Georgetown Technical College’s Grand Strand Campus conference center, 743 Hemlock Ave., at 2:20 p.m.

Post office entrance closed until Monday
The Sixth Avenue South entrance to the post office in North Myrtle Beach will be closed as part of the ongoing construction project at U.S.17 and Sixth Avenue South in the city, said city spokesman Pat Dowling.
The entrance will be closed beginning Friday, and will reopen Monday morning, Dowling said.
Post office customers can use the facility’s Seventh Avenue South entrance.
