THE LOCALE | Nick’s Cigar & Wine Bar

THE LOWDOWN | If you enjoy cigars while sipping on a frosty brew, then this is the place you’ve been waiting for. The owner of Nick’s Cigar World opened Nick’s Cigar and Wine Bar next door to his North Myrtle Beach superstore as a place where customers could sit and relax and enjoy cigars along with beer or wine.

Nick’s Cigar and Wine Bar has a warm and relaxed atmosphere. You’ll find locals, golfers and cigar lovers. Despite being a cigar bar, it’s not smoky thanks to a state-of-the-art smoke ventilation system.

Along the cream colored walls you’ll see photos of tobacco fields and factories in Central America, each framed with dark wood that matches the tables, chairs and bar stools. You can choose to sit at the bar, or you may want to settle into the leather club chairs for more of a living room feel. You can also play golf with an indoor golf simulator.

Every Wednesday, give your golf game a try during the Closest to the Pin contest. For five bucks, you get a draft beer and a cigar, and a few strokes to try to get closest to the pin. On the first Thursday of every month, check out the wine tastings starting at 6 p.m. It’s the perfect opportunity to find out which wines pair perfectly with your favorite cigar (or vice versa.) The experts can offer tips on beer and cigar pairings, too.

Nick’s Cigar and Wine Bar opens at 3 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays (closed Sunday and Monday) and happy hour runs all evening, every evening. You can snag domestic beers for $3, draft beer for $2.50 and wine by the glass starting at $4.50. You can get bottles of the signature label wine, Nick’s Private Stock, for $18. Other wine bottles range from $22-$58, but hover in the mid-20s. You can also order champaign by the bottle or by the glass.
