A Georgetown County man was charged with four counts of attempted murder Tuesday in connection with a weekend shooting at Myrtle Beach’s Broadway at the Beach, according to a police report.

Pablo Alberto Vargas, 21, was arrested Tuesday and faces the charges that stemmed from about 2:20 a.m. Saturday when officers were called to Celebrity Circle for a shooting, according to authorities.

Vargas is being held at the Myrtle Beach Jail pending a bond hearing.

Witnesses told police that two people were shooting at each other in the parking lot of Hard Rock Café, according to a police report. During the shooting, several vehicles in the parking lot were damaged and the suspects had fled the area before police arrived.

Damage was estimated at $800 to four vehicles that were struck by bullets during the shooting, according to the report.

On Wednesday, in a press release from Myrtle Beach police, officials said Vargas argued with four people at the location and when they got into a vehicle to drive away Vargas shot into the vehicle. Myrtle Beach police arrested Vargas with assistance of the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force without incident.
