Firefighters rescued a person Tuesday evening from a house fire in Murrells Inlet that has since been put out, according to Leslie Yancey, spokeswoman for Horry County Fire Rescue.

She said firefighters responded to a call around 7:30 p.m. about a fire at a home in the 5500 block of Daybreak Road in Murrells Inlet, and when they arrived found smoke coming from the home.

Firefighters also learned that someone was inside the home on the second floor. Yancey said firefighters used a ground ladder to rescue the person and isolated the fire.
