Woman charged after car rammed

A Little River woman was arrested Sunday on charges she used her car to hit another woman’s car in which her former boyfriend and his girlfriend were riding, according to a police report.

Lauren Ashley Lumpkin, 21, of Little River was charged with two counts of first-degree assault and battery, criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature, hit and run with property damage and unlawful carrying of a pistol, according to records at J. Reuben Long Detention Center. Lumpkin is being held on $75,000 bail.

The charges stemmed from 6 p.m. Nov. 8 when a 24-year-old man and a man and woman, both 46, were riding in the older woman’s car along Sea Mountain Highway, according to the report. The woman told police a sport utility vehicle got in front of her car and the driver put the vehicle in reverse and rammed her car three times.

The woman said the SUV driver then drove away, but that she recognized the driver as Lumpkin, according to the report. The 46-year-old man told police that he had dated Lumpkin, but they broke up about a year ago.

The man said Lumpkin had harassed him and his new girlfriend.

The man was treated for minor injuries and released from Seacoast Medical Center. At the time of the incident, police tried to find Lumpkin, but were not successful.

Officers were called at 7 p.m. Nov. 22 to the Hugo Citgo store at to 2776 U.S. 501 for an armed robbery, said Catina Hipp, spokeswoman.

The woman left the store and got in a green full size Chevrolet or GMC Sport Utility Vehicle driven by a man, Hipp said. No injuries were reported.
