My goal with this column is to use the space to pull back the curtain and show readers what we do and why we do it. This week, I get to write about some changes in our weekly lineup aimed at giving readers more of what they've asked for.

Sharp-eyed readers will already have noticed that we've expanded the Sunday Coasting section so that it now also includes the coverage of home and garden trends that had been tucked inside the Local section on Saturdays.

And beginning Wednesday, Johanna D. Wilson's coverage of restaurant news and local cooking trends will again be presented in its own Coasting section, where you'll also find the comics, puzzles and TV grid.

On Friday, reporter Brad Dickerson will launch a weekly column featuring Horry County modeled after Steve Jones' popular Conway Notebook column that runs on Mondays. The Horry County column will be followed by similar columns focused on Georgetown County, Myrtle Beach and on area education news.

Those are highlights of the new journalism-related features, but you'll notice other changes too.

Beginning this week, classified advertising, which includes everything from job listings to lost pets and vintage cars for sale, is again publishing seven days a week. On Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays the ads will be found in the Sports section. Classified is a standalone section on the other four days of the week, when it also includes the comics, puzzles and TV grid.

But wait, there's more, as they say in late-night infomercials.

Those looking to save some money - and really, who isn't these days - will be counting the days until the launch of the new Dealsaver program, which will bring the area's best bargains every morning to the email inboxes of those who sign up. Dealsaver will launch here in late August, but those who go to www.dealsaver.com/myrtlebeach now and sign up will be eligible for a $100 gas gift card.

We know from experience that it always takes some time for regular readers to get used to changes in our lineup, even when they are made - as many of these were - at the suggestion of other readers.

Please share yours as well. I can't promise we'll be able to do everything for everyone, but I can promise I'll listen.
