2 men charged in woman's kidnapping

Myrtle Beach police charged two men after a 22-year-old woman said she was held against her will inside a motel room with them, assaulted by one of the men and shown a video of a baby being put inside a microwave, according to a police report.

Scenca Devon Benning, 33, was charged with kidnapping and first-degree assault and battery and David Wayne Keeno, 54, was charged with disorderly conduct, police said. Benning is being held at J. Reuben Long on $70,000 bond, while Keeno was released Saturday.

The woman told officers at 11 p.m. Friday she had been held against her will inside a room of the White Sands Motel at 708 N. Kings Highway, according to the report.

The woman said she knew Benning through friends and had met him as she walked to visit another friend at the motel.

The woman said Benning carried her through a grassy field to avoid sand spurs and was friendly to her until they got to near a room where he pulled her inside and held her there for three hours. The woman said he showed her a video of the baby and told her gang members did that to his child and he was going to do the same thing to her.

The woman said Benning threatened to stab her with scissors, threatened to drown her in a bathtub and hit her in the face when she called out for help, according to the report.

The woman said Keeno was in the room, but appeared to be afraid of Benning during the incident.

The woman pulled away from Benning and ran for help. Witnesses reported the woman ran out screaming and Benning ran out and fled the area.
