TripAdvisor: Myrtle Beach tops best beach list second year running

Myrtle Beach is the best beach destination in the U.S. for the second consecutive year, user-driven travel website TripAdvisor announced today.

The city ranked first for U.S. beach destinations and sixth for beach destinations worldwide in the 2011 Traveler's Choice Destination Awards. TripAdvisor's listing is based on user reviews of destinations. The lists ranked the top 25 destinations in each category.

Myrtle Beach took the top spot among U.S. beaches in the 2010 awards.
