Six Myrtle Beach women told police they were robbed by two men armed with a shotgun, who forced their way into the women's apartment, according to a police report.
The women, who are between the ages of 19 and 23, told police two men followed them when two of the women returned home at 11 p.m. Tuesday to their apartment at Courtside Villas Apartment at 1510 Greens Blvd., police said.
The women said one of the men forced the door open and pointed a shotgun at one woman while he held her on the ground, according to the report. The man stole the woman's backpack, money, cell phone and music player.
Another woman, who was sleeping at the time, told police she got up to tell her roommates to be quiet, and one of the men forced his way into her room and stole her computer and phone, according to the report. Another woman told police she ran to her bedroom, locked the door and climbed out the window, then ran to a nearby apartment and called police.

Man charged with punching ATM
A New York man was charged with damaging an automated teller machine at a BB&T bank branch office, according to a police report.
Sean M. Marvin, 22, of Allegany, N.Y., was charged with destruction to real property after a taxi-cab driver called police to report three people were being disorderly in the cab, police said.
The driver told police she picked up Marvin and the two other men at Broadway at the Beach and took them to the ATM at 2619 Oak St. where Marvin punched the ATM because he got upset when he tried to retrieve money from it, according to the report. The woman took the men to a motel and then called police to report the incident.

Drunk woman charged, spits on officer
Myrtle Beach police wrestled a North Carolina woman to the ground after she got upset that officers were arresting her for public intoxication along Ocean Boulevard, according to a police report.
Lisa Marie McCarty, 28, of Creston, N.C., was charged with public intoxication, breach of peace, resisting arrest and throwing bodily fluids on a correctional officer, police said. An officer saw McCarty walking into traffic in the 900 block of Ocean Boulevard and then her friends helping her walk across the street because she was intoxicated.
The officer noted McCarty was unsteady on her feet and smelled alcohol when he approached her, according to the report. Police arrested her, handcuffed her and sat her on the sidewalk while the officer wrote a summons ticket.
The officers noted McCarty jumped up, spat in the face of an officer and fought with the other officers while she yelled profanities and kicked at them, according to the report. Police held McCarty on the ground until she was carried to a patrol vehicle and taken to the police department.

Gunman nears pizza delivery woman
A 32-year-old woman who delivered a pizza to an apartment on Greens Boulevard told police a man pointed a gun at her as she walked back to her car, according to the report.
The woman told police she had completed the delivery when two men walked up to her outside an apartment building at Quail Marsh, 2005 N. Greens Blvd., police said. The woman said she turned and ran toward the apartment she had delivered the pizza to, and the men ran away.
The woman said she dropped her cell phone during the incident, and police did not locate it in the area, according to the report.

Public to see county parks plans
Plans for new parks in Georgetown County will be presented to the public starting next week.
The master plan, which will include conceptual plans for regional parks, will be shown to the public at five meetings held at various locations in Georgetown County.
The first meeting will take place at Waccamaw High School on Sept. 15 at 6 p.m.
On Sept. 16, two presentations will be held, one at Howard Recreation Center at 6 p.m. and the other at Andrews High School at 7:30 p.m.
On Sept. 23, a presentation will be held at Choppee Regional Resource Center at 6 p.m., and another presentation will be held at Pleasant Hill Elementary School at 7:30 p.m.

Tax seminar set for small businesses
The Coastal Area Small Business Development Center, which is at Coastal Carolina University, is sponsoring a tax seminar for small-business owners from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sept. 16 in the E. Craig Wall Sr. College of Business Auditorium, according to a CCU news release. The event is free and open to the public, but registration is required.
The seminar will be led by representatives of the Internal Revenue Service, the S.C. Employment Security Commission and the S.C. Department of Revenue, the release said. Sessions consist of four hours of federal tax issues, one hour of state tax issues and one hour with the S.C. Employment Security Commission.
