3-vehicle crash kills Georgetown man
The S.C. Highway Patrol is trying to piece together the details of a wreck that left a Georgetown man dead Sunday.
Georgetown County Coroner Kenny Johnson said Santos Morales, 37, of Georgetown, died at the scene of the three vehicle crash on U.S. 701 Sunday.
According to S.C. Highway Patrol reports, the incident happened about 4:50 p.m. about 2 miles north of the city of Georgetown.
A 2004 Toyota pickup being driving north by a Conway man collided with Santos' car, a 2001 Mitsubishi traveling south, according to a highway patrol spokesman. The agency would not say which lane the cars were in when they collided head-on.
A third vehicle, a mo-ped driven by a Georgetown man, was struck in the aftermath of the crash.
The truck and mo-ped drivers were taken to Georgetown Memorial Hospital, troopers said.
