Authorities seek car from hit-and-run
The S.C. Highway Patrol is seeking a car believed to have been involved with a hit-and-run Saturday night in Georgetown County, in which one teenager is known to have been injured.
Highway Patrol spokesman Cpl. Paul Brouthers said a 16-year-old boy was walking with other people along Litchfield Road about 11 p.m., when he was hit.
"We know it's a Ford product - it could be a Ford," Brouthers said. "We found the passengers' side mirror, which is made by Ford."
The boy was sent to Georgetown Hospital and transferred to the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, although Brouthers said he didn't know the boy's condition.
The car is possibly white or light-colored, he said, and should have damage on the right side near the post that comes down from the roof and holds the windshield. It also may be missing a right-side mirror. A witness said the car was a small, passenger vehicle, the Highway Patrol said.
Anyone with information is asked to call the South Carolina Highway Patrol at 1-800-768-1505.
