MB Riptides

Thanks for making swim meet happen

The Myrtle Beach Riptides hosted the South Carolina Long Course State Swim Meet this past weekend at the Augusta Aquatics Center. Over 600 swimmers participated in the event from all over the state of South Carolina. We want to thank the local companies that generously donated items and materials to help make this event a huge success. The following is a list of supporters:

Sports

More events should come to area

I was wondering why with all the golf courses in this area why there is not a PGA or LPGA golf tournament here. It would seem that out of 100-plus courses that one would be suitable for a professional tournament. I was also wondering if Myrtle Beach is considering hosting a pro volleyball tournament or Jet Ski races off the beach. After a trip to the new boardwalk, I believe that the area where The Pavilion used to be would be great for a volleyball tournament and the boardwalk and beach would be great places to watch Jet Ski races. All of the above have the opportunity to draw people to this area as well as adding something new. Actually, there is no reason that all three cannot become a reality.
