A Myrtle Beach woman was charged with assaulting a police officer outside an Ocean Boulevard motel, according to a police report.

Donna Brown, 58, was charged with public intoxication and assault of an officer after police were called Friday to the Sea Hawk Motel at 2801 S. Ocean Blvd., police said.

Motel employees called police after being told Brown had screamed at people, thrown items and tried to kick another guest of the mote, according to the report. Police went to the womanÂ’s room, but she refused to open the door.

Officers were near the lobby when Brown walked there and was arrested, according to the report. When officers went to put Brown inside a police vehicle she kicked an officer several times on the thigh.
