The Coastal South Carolina Chapter of the American Red Cross will hold its annual meeting and volunteer recognition banquet on Thursday at the Horry-Georgetown Technical College Conference Center, 600 Meyers Ave. in Myrtle Beach.

Members from the chapter, which serves Georgetown, Horry and Williamsburg counties, are invited to the gathering, which will begin with registration and a social at 6 p.m., followed by dinner at 7 p.m.

Volunteer presentations will follow the dinner, as will a brief annual meeting. The guest speaker will be Charlotte Lunsford Berry, who has been a major contributor to the National American Red Cross for 30 years. She was national chairwoman of volunteers in the 1980s, when she was responsible for supervising and planning activities for 1.8 million volunteers.

Call 477-0020 or 546-5422 to see if reservations are still available.
