At about 8:50 p.m. and a two-hour standoff Horry County Police have arrested two suspects, who may have been involved in shooting earlier this afternoon.

Initally, police were looking for one suspect and chased him into an apartment on Maypop Circle, off Palmetto Pointe Boulevard.

Two people eventually came out of the apartment. Police have not disclosed the involvement of the second suspect. Both men were arrested.

Similar stories:

The first man came out of the building voluntarily at about 8:30 p.m. and police had to go in and get the second man.

Several shots and explosions were heard throughout the ordeal. At about 7:55 p.m. an officer shot an object through the window, and officers appeared to enter the ground floor apartment. Another loud bang was heard inside the apartment at about 8:00 p.m.

One of the suspects was reportedly involved in a shooting on Palmetto Pointe Boulevard at about 3 p.m.

The victim of the shooting was taken to the South Strand Regional Medical Center for treatment for non-life threatening injures, said Sgt. Robert Kegler, with Horry County Police.

Police evacuated the nearby apartment and closed off two roads in the area: the entrance to the villas and Ivystone apartments at Palmetto Pointe Boulevard and April Pine Drive; and the entrance to the Sea Palms development on Palmetto Pointe Boulevard.

Those roads have been reopened.

More information will be posted as it becomes available.
