Dorolena Scott, 26, died early Sunday morning after the car she was riding in went off the road and struck a tree.
Georgetown Coroner Kenny Johnson said Scott died from closed-head trauma in the accident that occurred about 12:15 a.m. on S.C. 51 about 11 miles north of Andrews.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol said the car's driver, Timothy Pitts, 24, was taken to an area hospital after the accident. His condition is unknown.
