MYRTLE BEACH -- Khadijah Sessions scored a game-high 19 points as Myrtle Beach pulled away in the second half to beat Hartsville 58-40 on Saturday in the Consolation Bracket of the Crescent Bank Holiday Invitational at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center.
Myrtle Beach stepped up its defense against Hartsville, forcing 28 Red Fox turnovers and six blocked shots, including three by Sessions.
It was the second-straight 19-point effort for Sessions, a sophomore, despite hitting just 12-of-47 shots from the field in two tournament games.
The Sehawks shot better as a team on Saturday, shooting 36.8 percent from the field after a 27.6 percent effort in a nine-point loss to defending tournament champion Butler (N.C) on Friday night.
Shatia Cole had 13 points and six assists for Myrtle Beach, and D.J. Hunter added 10 points. Jasmine Phillips paced Hartsville with 16 points and 13 rebounds.
Myrtle Beach will face the winner of Monday's game between Socastee and Elizabeth Seton on Tuesday at 10 a.m.
Stephenson (Ga.) 49, Elizabeth Seton (Md.) 41 | Kaliyah Mitchell came off the bench and had 15 points and 12 rebounds for the Jaguars as Stephenson got 30 points from its bench compared to just eight for the Roadrunners.
Elizabeth Seton got off to a fast start and led by 14 points with 6:23 left in the first half before a Stephenson rally gave the Jaguars a 27-26 lead at the half.
Goose Creek 66, Providence Day (N.C) 33 | Aleighsa Welch had 19 points, nine rebounds and eight assists and N'Dea Bryant scored 18 as the Gators cruised past the Chargers.
Welch and Bryant combined to go 14-of-19 from the field and 9-of-10 from the foul line.
Goose Greek will face either Scott County (Ky.) or Redan (Ga.) on Monday.
Fayette County (Ga.) 58, Butler (N.C) 56 | Anma Onyeuku scored a team-high 17 points on 8-of-11 shooting and Keyondra Jenkins had 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Tigers, who remained unbeaten.
Mayhana Dunovant led all scorers with 18 points - including four 3-pointers - in the loss.
Redan (Ga.) 59, Scott County (Ky.) 43 | Nia Evans had 15 points and 10 rebounds, and Aneisha Daniels added 11 points and eight boards to lead Redan past Scott County.
Kristen Stainback led Scott County with 15 points.
