Two Carolina Forest baseball players sign to play in college

Two Carolina Forest baseball players signed National Letters of Intent to play college baseball during the fall signing period.

Senior Justin Turbeville, who has contributed as a pitcher, in the outfield and at first base for the Panthers, signed with Francis Marion University. Senior Matthew Jolly, a pitcher and outfielder, signed to play at Newberry College.

On the mound, Turbeville went 3-1 with a 2.26 ERA, 31 strikeouts and only two walks in 21 2/3 innings as a junior. He batted .288 with three home runs and 10 RBIs. He was named to the all-tournament team in last year's Baseball at the Beach and was an honorable mention all-region selection.

Similar stories:

Jolly, also an honorable mention all-region pick last season, batted .305 with 16 runs scored and 15 stolen bases as a junior. On the mound, Jolly was 0-2 with two saves and 4.36 ERA.
