Marco Polo Poolside Grill
Caravelle Resort, Myrtle Beach
If you're looking for beverages, bar food, beach and maybe a dip in a pool to cool off, the Marco Polo Poolside Grill is the place to come. This week we checked out the Caravelle Resort's outdoor tiki bar for some delicious drinks and tasty food, where tourists and locals alike are welcomed.
Marco Polo sits between the Caravelle Resort pool and the beach, so you can face whichever water suits your fancy. Or, you're able to escape the swim life by sitting at the tables which are surrounded with palmetto trees and vegetation.
What would a beach bar be without beach music playing on the radio? Decorations inside the tiki bar, like bright fish, palm trees and colored lights, enhance the beach atmosphere.
If you're hungry, the bar offers hamburgers, hot dogs and chicken sandwiches. You can sit and enjoy your dinner as the sun starts to set, or you can take your food to go.
At the Marco Polo Poolside bar, you can enjoy a plethora of frozen drinks to cool you off. My personal favorite is the Block & Tackle. The owner won't reveal all the ingredients, but it's a blend of coconuts, bananas and rum. Depending on the day of the week, you can cash in on the frozen drink specials for just $5. For more happy hour deals, head inside to the bar Liquids, where $2 beer and $3 well drinks are served every day from 4-7 p.m.
Tips | You can park at the beach access at 69th Avenue North in Myrtle Beach, right next to the Caravelle Resort. Steps at the end lead you right to the Marco Polo Poolside Grill.
