Steve Phillips World Cuisines Buffet, Myrtle Beach

This week we went to Steve Phillips World Cuisines Buffet, where just three bucks can get you a number of drinks. The open and inviting nautical atmosphere is suited for all ages, families and friends.

Walking into Steve Phillips World Cuisines Buffet is almost like walking into a gigantic ship. The ceilings are high, the windows are etched with fish, and there's a wall with water running down it. Actual sails even hang in the restaurant to separate the buffet tables from the seating area.

Decorations including pictures of ships and detailed boat replicas add to the nautical feel, and a market where you can buy fresh or frozen fish is attached to the restaurant almost like one that would sit alongside fishing ships in the harbor. You can eat in the deli area, get food to go or venture into the restaurant or bar.

The bar is quiet and relaxing, suitable for an after work drink or before dinner cocktail. You can watch television as you sip on your drink, but some of you may no longer recognize the TVs ... get this - they're not flat panels.

Happy Hour runs from 4-7 p.m. Monday through Friday. The drink specials are offered in the bar area only. Deals include $3 premium well cocktails, wine and beer. An Oasis machine sits behind the bar so you can splurge to get a frozen daiquiri in a fun glass.

Tips | There are no Happy Hour deals on food, but you can take advantage of the $19.99 buffet, which you can eat in the bar.

Find it | 1807 21st Ave. N., Myrtle Beach (Corner of 21st Avenue North & U.S. 17 Bypass) Call 626-2722 or visit www.phillipsseafood.com.
