An upside-down building could soon be the newest peculiar sight at Broadway at the Beach, joining a volcano, a lighthouse and an Egyptian pyramid at the shopping and dining attraction.
WonderWorks, a hands-on science attraction, is slated to open in the spring of 2010, according to Burroughs & Chapin Co. Inc., which owns the property.
The building will replace the Crab House Restaurant, which closed earlier this year.

WonderWorks, based in Orlando, Fla., has other locations in Orlando and in Pigeon Forge, Tenn.
WonderWorks will house 45,000 square feet of attractions that allow people to feel what it's like to be in an earthquake and hurricane, fly a NASA space shuttle or fighter jet, or ride a virtual rollercoaster.
WonderWorks had been in talks with B&C for over a year to build here.
In November 2007, WonderWorks owner Robin Turner said the project would cost $12 million to $15 million and create between 120 and 150 jobs.
