Pelicans to host charity event

MYRTLE BEACH | The Myrtle Beach Pelicans will hold a Holiday Open House for fans Saturday.

The event, which will be from 11 a.m. to 2 pm., is to benefit Fostering Hope during the holiday season. Fans attending who bring an unwrapped toy, new socks or underwear to donate will receive a coupon for 30 percent off one item in the Pelicans Pro Shop and a voucher for one regular- season game ticket to a 2009 Pelicans home game.

All fans in attendance will receive 20 percent off any purchase over $50 in the pro shop.

Refreshments will be available throughout the event. The Pelicans will also conduct guided tours of BB&T Coastal Field will hold a scavenger hunt featuring Pelicans prizes.
