This picturesque hole is short but treacherous, with marsh along the left side.

The tee boxes back up to the tee boxes of another Dream 18 hole, Tidewater's par-3 12th.

The tee shot is elevated to an elongated, three-tiered green that is deep but narrow, falls off to the left into marsh and has a plateau back right, then slopes steeply from right to left.

The hole is not long -- measuring 142 yards from the gold tee, 126 from the white, 103 from the senior and 93 from the red -- but getting the ball on the wrong tier of the green makes par a chore.

There are a trio of large bunkers in front of the green, two back right and a small one on the left that can keep shots from balling into the marsh.

quotes
"Beauty is a beast here. It's a short hole that provides a false sense of security. It has a difficult green to read and pit-like bunkers make it extremely memorable."
Nick Nicholas
"A great par-3 for all handicaps because the green has so many options. A front-left pin near the marsh is easiest because shot filter toward it. A back-tier pin is very difficult, often leaving tough putts and dangerous chips. The setting is beautiful along the Cherry Grove Inlet."
John Brasier
