The hole is beautiful but can be maddening because of its short length that catches many players between clubs and shallow green that would be difficult to hold with any club.

Add exposure to wind over an open marsh and par is a tremendous score.

The hole measures 145 yards from the back tees, 115 from the blue, 69 from the white, and a miniscule 40 from the gold and red.

The green is 28 yards deep, raised and bulkheaded, and protected on three sides by marsh. Only a narrow sliver of land that connects the 13th green to the 16th green can be considered a bailout area, and a deep bunker catches balls hit to the back-right portion of the green.

The hole's tee boxes are built off a wooden bridge that traverses the expansive marsh you must carry to the green.

quotes
"Very intimidating due to wind direction. I played the hole one day and used a wedge, and played another day with the same yardage and the wind in the opposite direction and used a 5-iron. "
Joe Bernat
"There is no shot around Myrtle Beach where you have to control your ball flight more."
Justin Roof
