Hard Rock Park will extend the life of annual and season passes for six months, according to a statement sent by park spokeswoman Megan Winnett.
The park has also offered to exchange unused tickets for 2009 tickets "in the near future."
A bankruptcy judge ruled on Monday that the park's owners were "authorized, in their sole discretion, to honor the customer obligations," which includes season and annual passes. The park said in court filings that it sold about 11,000 of the $150 annual passes, which were said to be valid for a year from the time of first use. The park also gave out about 7,500 season passes, which the park said were good for the 2008 season.
Winnett's statement:
Hard Rock Park is pleased to announce that we have received Bankruptcy Court approval to offer our Annual and Season Pass Holders a six-month extension. In addition, anyone still holding unused tickets to the Park will be able to exchange their unused tickets for a 2009 ticket in the near future. Unfortunately, the approval of refunds is not permitted by the Bankruptcy Court at this time.
We would also like to thank our guests and the local community in Myrtle Beach for their ongoing support and loyalty; and we will remain focused on delivering a first class entertainment experience to all future visitors of the Park.
Park spokesman Jim Olecki said the extension is for six months after the expiration date on the tickets.
